Marine electrical engineer, Pula — Istria
Fifteen years as an electro-technical officer on ocean-going tankers and merchant vessels, now operating as a single mobile service unit for yachts, commercial craft and shore facilities across the North Adriatic.
Service record
Certification & standards
STCW Electro-Technical Officer
The IMO convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping sets the competence requirements for seafarers. The certificate behind the electro-technical officer role in the service record above.
Gas carrier operations
Aboard gas carriers and tankers, work is carried out to SIGTTO standards — the safety and operating practice the Society of International Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators sets for that fleet. Emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, and the electrical insulation interface between ship and shore.
Standing instrument inventory
Standing inventory carried on every callout. Specialist tooling is hired in where a job requires it.
Insulation resistance tester
Megohmmeter to 1000 V, for motor windings, cable runs and switchboard circuits.
Clamp meter, true RMS
DC and AC current under load, including inrush capture on motors and heavy DC circuits.
Thermal imaging camera
Loose terminations, unbalanced phases and overheating breakers before they fail.
Marine network analyser
Backbone voltage, termination state and data traffic on marine instrument networks.
Oscilloscope, portable
Alternator ripple, PWM signals and sensor waveforms on automation loops.
Hydraulic crimping tools
Lugs to 120 mm² with correct die sizes; no hammer crimps on battery cabling.
Calibrated torque tools
Busbar and breaker terminations tightened to the manufacturer’s figure and recorded.
Battery load & capacity tester
Bank condition verified before a replacement is quoted.

Working arrangements
One engineer attends from diagnosis through to handover. No subcontracting: the person who measures the fault wires the repair and signs the record.
Vessel and site enquiries
Send the vessel or facility, the system involved and the symptom. Written assessment first, attendance by arrangement.
